1. Wrap the earphone correctly

One of the most common habits, and also one that damages headphones the most, is leaving them too tangled up. Many people even take the accessory and put it in their pocket or backpack, which causes knots to form and even compromises the sound quality.

It is essential to try to wind the headphones correctly, so that they last longer, but in a way that does not damage the wire.

2. Do not leave heavy objects on top

Another tip is to avoid leaving the headphones underneath heavy objects that could damage the wires inside, such as notebooks and stereos, for example.

Therefore, when you get home, try to leave the headset on a table or in a cupboard, away from the risk of someone sitting or placing something on top of it.

3. Keep out of reach of animals

A dangling cord is a lot of fun for pets, such as cats and dogs. Therefore, it is essential to always try to wrap the headphones, or even leave them in a safe place, out of reach of your pet.

By taking this precaution, you prevent your headphones from being destroyed, you don't put your pet at risk and you don't need to look for a 24 hour vet if your pet gets sick.

4. Pull the earphone by the cord

No electronic device can survive the famous and hasty pulling of the cord, and that's because the cord is the most sensitive part of your headphones. Therefore, remember that any strong pull on this part can cause the wires inside to suffer damage or break completely.

The tip, therefore, is to never pull the headset directly by the cord to disconnect it, and if you have a pet at home, try to never leave the cable loose.

5. Store safely and properly

Just as we shouldn't leave our smartphone on the floor, we should take the same care with our headphones, preventing them from coming into contact with dirt, water or pets.

The ideal is to keep the accessory in a clean and dry place, if possible, inside a box or a specific bag, but always out of reach of your pet, such as a dog or cat.

6. Keep headphones away from heat

Another tip that can make all the difference in the durability of your headphones is to try to avoid exposing the accessory to very high temperatures, or direct sunlight, for a very long period of time. In this sense, never leave your headphones inside the car on an extremely hot day, the result of this forgetfulness can even be the loss of the device.

Therefore, if your headphones can be folded, try to fold them, following the specifications and instructions provided by the manufacturer, to avoid the risk of damaging the device, avoiding damage to its components, which are generally very sensitive.

Finally, try to avoid storing your headphones rolled up, inside your pants pocket or at the bottom of your backpack, never pull them by the cable, keep them out of reach of your pets and protect them from extreme heat for long periods of time.

By following these tips, you will certainly ensure a longer lifespan for your headset.
