Having an international chip on your cell phone to access the internet can save you money when traveling abroad. There are four main ways to use your smartphone when traveling abroad.

International eSIM chips
The virtual SIM card, called an eSIM, works just like any other SIM card in your phone. It includes a phone number and data plan that allows your smartphone to connect to your mobile network for data, calls and text messages. You can use it as an international SIM card in Europe or other continents.
The difference is that, unlike a standard SIM card, an eSIM is practically built into a phone or tablet without a physical chip. Typically, you add a virtual SIM card to your device by scanning a QR code, entering a code, or installing it through an app. All of this is done online.
It is believed that within a few years, mobile phone chips as we know them today will completely replace eSIMs. So it is better to get used to it. An eSIM is very practical when traveling. Because you can still buy virtual chips on your trips remotely from Brazil. Essentially, these services sell temporary phone plans that can be used abroad. The advantage is that you can rent a mobile data plan for a lower price and you do not need to physically buy a SIM card at a mobile phone store or worry about activation and registration, which is usually required in many countries.
Economy and practicality
This is a huge time saver, especially if you're traveling to countries like France or Spain, where passports are scanned and registered when purchasing a SIM card. In other places, like Argentina, you'll need to go to one of the carrier's chosen stores to buy your tokens.
You can also buy eSIM cards for when you need them, and they usually work for a specific period of time. At the end of this period or when you run out of data, you can top up your eSIM or buy a new SIM from another carrier.
The downside of eSIM is that not all phones can use the virtual chip. Some options: Besides Airalo, the most famous are Truphone, Ubigi, GigSky and KnowRoaming.
Chips sold at destination
International prepaid chips are the same ones we buy to activate our phone lines here in Brazil. This makes it easier to understand how it actually works and makes it more comfortable. This option is generally less expensive than the other three options.
The downside is that you can't buy it online and have to go to a store abroad to buy it. This can be difficult if you don't speak the local language. Also, if your phone doesn't support dual SIM like the iPhone, you have to replace the SIM card with another SIM card and be careful not to lose the SIM card with the country code written on it. And each country has its own SIM activation rules.

Brazilian chip with international roaming
You can access the Internet and make international calls if your mobile plan allows it, without buying another SIM card. Brazilian carriers have several international roaming options.

Vivo – For Vivo's international roaming, the service for postpaid customers is Vivo Travel. There is a monthly package with the same price as Claro or the option of a single rate of R$$ 39.99 per day.
TIM customers – Who is Tim Black can enjoy unlimited WhatsApp and Instagram content abroad. Other service packages attract and each activity on the phone has a separate charge.
Even if you are interested in using roaming, check the amount of internet that comes with your package. It may not be enough for your needs and may freeze. Also, before signing up for a specific package, check with your carrier to see if that plan already has coverage.
International chips
At some airports in Brazil, you can find international SIM card shops. Other companies also sell products online and have them shipped to your home. The advantage of a physical SIM card is that you can install a SIM card and use your internet connection to get to your destination. However, this option is usually the most expensive (from $ 31 + shipping) and when buying online, you need to factor in shipping times if you want to receive your SIM card anywhere.
