New electric car

Apparently, the brand's first electric vehicle Xiaomi will soon be available to consumers and has already set a launch price. The supplier involved in the project, FAW Fuwei Automotive, has released some information about the new product and its final price.

FAW Fuwei Automotive has reportedly released documents indicating that it is one of the parts suppliers for the Xiaomi and that the Chinese company's first car, the Xiaomi MS11, should cost 149 thousand yuan (Chinese currency), approximately R$ 99 thousand at the current exchange rate.

However, Wang Hua, Xiaomi's head of public relations, denied the amount, and the document leaked by the supplier was also deleted.

Announcement

With few details yet to be released, the Xiaomi MS11 could be launched in 2023, with the first units being delivered from the first half of next year, when mass production is expected to begin. The first tests with the car have already begun in China.

And in May, Xiaomi partner and president Lu Weibing reported that the project was progressing smoothly and had entered an accelerated development stage.

The Xiaomi MS11 is expected to be an electric sedan, with a sporty look similar to the BYD Seal, but serving as a direct rival to the Tesla Model 3.

Electric cars

An electric car is a vehicle that uses an electric motor as a form of propulsion. Traditional cars use combustion engines, powered by fuels such as gasoline, diesel and ethanol.

Electric cars are quieter, do not produce emissions and have lower maintenance costs, and can be charged at electric car charging points.

How does it work?

Electric cars use electricity as a form of fuel. This is made possible by a rechargeable battery, which stores energy. An inverter converts direct current into alternating current, which is fed to an induction motor. The electricity then powers the electric car engine, causing the wheels to turn and the electric car to move.

Types of electric cars

Plug-in electric: They are 100% electric cars, which acquire their energy when they are charged.

Plug-in hybrid: These are hybrid cars that run on both electricity and fuel. If the electricity runs out, it can be replaced by gasoline or another fuel.

Hybrid electric: These are predominantly fuel-powered cars that also run on electricity. However, in this case, it is not possible to charge them from a source; the battery is recharged by the energy recovery system.
