HMD Global, the maker of Nokia smartphones, has announced that it will create a mobile phone brand under its own name, the company's CEO Jean-François Baril announced on LinkedIn.
But for those who like Nokia, don't worry. Baril explained that HMD Global will continue to manufacture smartphones from the brand known for its durability, keeping both brands in the company's portfolio. Keep reading and see what this device should look like.

HMD Global
The Finnish company HMD Global has been producing mobile phones under the Nokia name since 2016, that is, since its creation. The company is not part of the Nokia Corporation, which created the brand, and has been out of the smartphone market since 2014, with the codename “Original Nokia” by experts.
However, HMD Global has partnered with Nokia Original to acquire the technology for mobile connectivity components. The smartphone maker still pays royalties for the use of “Nokia OG” patents.
Company talks about new partners
HMD Global CEO said in a LinkedIn post that the company will have “new partners” to work together on the company’s future. However, Baril did not elaborate further on this collaboration. The aura of mystery is surrounding the company’s future projects.
However, HMD Global uses Foxconn factories to manufacture its Nokia-branded smartphones. Since Terry Gou, the founder of Foxconn, is the majority shareholder of HMD Global, there is no doubt that the new phones will use Taiwanese foundries.
Baril also mentioned that HMD Global is one of the largest smartphone manufacturers in Europe. One possibility for cooperation is for the company to license other brands, perhaps even manufacturing Chinese-branded phones.
HMD uses processors from MediaTek, Qualcomm and Unisoc in its smartphones, including those from Nokia. The models will be aimed at the entry-level and mid-range markets. The CEO of HMD Global did not specify on LinkedIn whether the new brand of cell phones will be aimed at the same segments or will serve the high-end segment. However, if the brand follows the same quality standards as Nokia, users can expect a cell phone with great durability and performance.
New Nokia models
Nokia began the first week of September with posts on its social network suggesting that the company would launch one or more new phones. There are three posts so far, and in them the Finnish brand highlights short videos with a pink background and front element.
It's worth remembering that the company has already launched 21 phones this year, but it looks like it's ready to announce new models shortly
So far, nothing has been said beyond what is already in the publications. But it is already possible to assume that some cell phones will come in this new launch. The first would be the Nokia mobile phone X40, successor to the X30 announced in September last year. The next could be the C32, also a generation superior to the C31 revealed to the public at the same time, while the third bet goes to the G61 and G101 duo.
