Buying a cell phone for seniors with WhatsApp is a way to keep in touch with family and friends. The Meta app is one of the most used messaging apps by people of all ages, including the elderly, and is available on most cell phones on the market.  

You'll find everything from button phones for easy accessibility, like the Multilaser Zapp with a 2.4-inch non-touch screen, to basic smartphones like the Moto E13 with good cameras. The average price ranges from R$219 to R$679. So, check out the list below and decide which phone is right for you.

Multilaser Zapp – average price of R$ 219 

The Multilaser Zapp is the simplest cell phone on the list. Despite being an old-fashioned looking device, the device has an operating system and applications such as WhatsApp. Navigation has a central button with directional buttons and input is done using the number keys. Voice recording is also available by pressing the middle button.  

It should be noted that there are no headphones in the box. This means that you will need to use the phone's own speaker to listen to music or audio. The Zapp's specs are simple and the 2.4-inch screen does not have a touchscreen. The internal memory is only 32 GB, but it can be expanded up to 512 GB using a microSD card.  

To enhance your phone, the Multilaser features a quad-core processor with speeds of up to 1.3 GHz and 256 MB of RAM, which is enough for basic tasks. The battery is 1200mAh and should be able to keep the phone plugged in for several days. Sold at retail for R$$ 219, the Multilaser Zapp comes in black.    

Multilaser E Lite 2 – average price of R$ 259 

The Multilaser E lite 2 is a basic smartphone with Android 10 Go Edition, a version of Google's operating system designed for more basic phones. Even so, the device can support WhatsApp, making it a good option for seniors who want a simple phone with access to Messenger. Multilaser includes a case and screen protector in the box to protect the device from the moment of purchase.   

The spec sheet says it comes with 32GB of internal storage, expandable up to 64GB using a microSD card. The smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM. The LCD display is just 4 inches and the battery is 1500mAh, so you can use it all day. There is also a 2MP camera with flash. The Multilaser E lite 2 is selling online for R$$ 259.   

 Xiaomi Redmi 12C – average price of R$669   

The Redmi 12C has swapped Android Go for Android 13, the full version of Google's operating system with Xiaomi's MIUI 12 customizations. This means the device should run smoothly and provide a more complete experience for seniors.

To give the user more autonomy, Xiaomi has included a very large 5000mAh battery that can last up to 2 days of moderate use. The device can also use WhatsApp Messenger. In terms of specifications, the Xiaomi model It doesn't look bad. The internal memory is 64 GB, expandable up to 512 GB with a microSD card, and the RAM is 3 GB. This smartphone has an octa-core processor running at a frequency of up to 2 GHz.    

Motorola Moto E13 – average price of R$ 679 

THE Motorola cell phone Moto E13 is also a great choice for seniors who need simple WhatsApp calls. This smartphone has a 6.5-inch LCD screen and a 5,000 mAh battery that, with moderate use, can last 2 days on a single charge. The main camera has 13 MP and uses artificial intelligence and advanced features like HDR to improve photos.    

The software integrated into the phone is Android 13 Go, a version suitable for lower-end devices. Despite this, it has an octa-core processor of up to 1.6 GHz, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory. This amount can be increased by up to 1 TB using a microSD card. On the other hand, the phone can connect to 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WiFi networks and has 10 W fast charging. The Moto E13 costs around R$1,679.
