Do you want your WhatsApp to stand out and show your personality, but you don’t know if it’s possible? The answer is yes, it can happen. There are many ways to customize your WhatsApp messages and profile to make them more personal. For example, you can change the background image and set a ringtone for each person.
And it's easier than it seems, the app itself has a variety of modifiable features, to suit different tastes, depending on the user. Keep reading and check out the step-by-step guide below.
Change the wallpaper
For Android mobile:
- Go to Conversation Settings and tap More Options.
- Look for background options.
- Tap Change.
- Here you can choose whether you want to use a photo from your phone's image gallery or one of the articles provided by the service itself.
- Tap Set wallpaper.
For iPhone, the process is as follows:
- Tap the name of the contact or group in the conversation whose background you want to change.
- Go to Wallpapers, and then choose new wallpaper.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to select the desired image.
Choose a sound for each person
WhatsApp has settings that allow you to customize ringtones for specific individuals and groups. You can use it to set ringtones for your best friends, bosses, and very different family groups, for example. Whenever you receive a message from one of these people, you will hear a tone and identify the profile that sent the message.
To do this on Android mobile, follow the steps:
- Open the conversation you want to set the sound for and tap the contact/group name.
- Go to custom notifications.
- Select Enable custom notifications.
- Tap Notification sound and choose the sound you want.
On the iPhone the path is similar, see:
- Open a conversation and tap the name of a contact or group.
- Go to Wallpapers and Sounds.
- Choose a notification ringtone.
- Choose the sound you want and press save.
Insert notices
There are times when you can't open WhatsApp. That's why the tip is to customize the messages that will be displayed to your contacts. You can do this by accessing the settings menu and editing your profile information (where your photo is displayed). Here you can enter a description of the moment or select one of the items on the screen. The length of the note, or status, as it is called, can be up to 139 characters.
Change profile picture
Tired of your profile picture WhatsApp? Changing it is easy. Select your profile picture in the settings. Go to Edit and select New (you can do this from your photo gallery or choose an avatar).
Name correction
To fix on Android:
- Tap More options > Settings.
- Click on the profile picture.
- Enter the icon next to the name field.
- Write what you want, but remember, this field can contain up to 25 characters including emoticons.
- Tap Save.
On iPhone:
- Tap your profile picture, then tap your name.
- Enter the desired information and click OK. As stated, titles can be up to 25 characters long and can contain emojis.
