Android 14 is very close to reaching users, and with that, Google has just announced five new features that will arrive on Android devices, even before the launch of the new version. What's new in Android 14

1 – New At Glance widget

The At Glance widget is getting a new visual update, based on Android's Material You. In addition to the new look, the widget will receive improved animations and an area to display useful information, such as weather forecast, flight information, reminders and events. To work, the feature will rely on the help of a artificial intelligence, which will make it even more useful and personalized for the user.

2 – New Lookout features

The Lookout app, aimed at users with low vision, will also receive an update with artificial intelligence, which will allow the description of images displayed on the screen. This way, entire chats can be described to these people in 34 languages, including 11 new ones. The question and answer mode will also be added, allowing users to get more details about these images, through questions asked by voice or typing.

3 – New Google Wallet features

Google Wallet will also be getting new features. Thus, Google Wallet users will be able to add passes and tickets by scanning them QR codes or bars present. This means that users can leave their physical cards at home when going to certain locations, eliminating the risk of losing them.

4 – Zoom and Webex

Android Auto users will also see the arrival of Zoom and Webex apps, which will allow drivers to take advantage of their downtime to resolve business issues more easily. The Android Auto versions of these apps will allow you to view scheduled meetings, join them using your car's audio system, and manage calls in a personalized way.

5 – Google Fit and Fitbit

Google is also adding Google Fit and Fitbit to Google Assistant Routines, allowing users to set up Google Assistant to provide information about their sleep in the morning and share fitness details with voice commands.

Android 14 was announced by Google in February this year, and it is likely to be officially released in the 4th quarter of the year, between October and December.

Google also announced a change to the Android logo and mascot, which is the famous little robot. According to the company, the change aims to provide greater power of choice and autonomy for the brand to reflect what Android is.

The robot will be revamped and will have a more versatile 3D version, with the entire body, representing different styles. According to the company, the new robot can show how the system connects with people, communities and cultural moments, reflecting individual passions, personalities and contexts.
