Price comparison platform Buscapé published a ranking of the 20 most searched smartphones in Brazil last August. During this period, Samsung and Xiaomi devices were the most popular among users.
The South Korean company had nine models of the 20 most requested phones in the period, with a special focus on the Galaxy A54 5G and the top-of-the-line S22 and S22 Ultra. The Chinese company comes next with eight devices, with the Redmi Note 12S at the top of the list. See more details about the list below.
August adults
In August of this year, Xiaomi dominated searches for smartphones in Brazil, according to a monthly survey by Buscapé. Redmi Note 12S, priced at R$1,329 to R$1,455, rose from second place last month to first place in August. In second place is the Samsung Galaxy A54 with the lowest price of R$1,698.
According to Buscapé, the most searched smartphone brand in August was Samsung. Of the 20 most searched models on the site, 9 are from Korean manufacturers. In third place is another device from the Chinese manufacturer, the POCO X5 5G with 8GB. Despite being the most popular versions of 2022, the Galaxy S22 and Ultra came in 5th and 6th place, respectively. The 2023 flagship, the Galaxy S23, also made it into the top 20, but came in last.
Meanwhile, Apple is on Buscapé's most-searched list, but appears in fourth place with the iPhone 13. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 11 also came in 13th and 16th place. In addition, according to Buscapé, Brazilians are the ones who have the greatest demand for smartphones classified as intermediate, with prices of up to R$2,000. Among the 20 most-searched cell phones, there are 16 devices in this category.
When purchasing, the platform recommends that you carefully research the device you are interested in, as the price difference between the 20 most sought-after cell phones in August can reach 38% even for the same device, as is the case with the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
