Contacts from foreign numbers
This is not a current situation on WhatsApp, since the reports are quite old. However, they have been increasing in recent weeks, causing great inconvenience to users since, in addition to the messages, there are also several calls from these foreign numbers. In many cases, the messages have an alleged approach job vacancies, where it is possible to earn good money by working little.
One problem is that, since these are international numbers, it is very difficult to find information about the account holders. But to get rid of this, it is possible to block and report an unknown number to the platform.
How to report
- On the conversation screen, click on the three dots at the top of the screen;
- Click on “More” and then on “Report”;
- Choose whether you want to block the contact and delete the conversation – this option is enabled by default, so consider taking screenshots of the conversations before confirming the block;
- Select the “Report” option;
- Please provide a reason for blocking this number, such as “unwanted content.” If you do not choose to block the number, this option will not appear.
If the content is serious and includes issues such as threats to life, it is also recommended to make a formal report to the police.
Protect your data
In addition to reporting the number, there are also other steps you can take to prevent your personal information from being accessed by third parties, protecting your privacy.

– Silence calls from unknown numbers: although you won’t receive the calls, they will still appear in the “Calls” tab and in the app’s notifications.
