Check out the test results now and discover if the cameras are really good. Cell phones scored 142 points!

The iPhone 15 was launched by Apple last month, but it has been causing quite a stir ever since. This Friday (13) DxOMark published another analysis of the cell phone cameras. This time, it is about the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models, which scored the same 145 points, which is enough for them to occupy the 12th position in the site's global ranking in the photography category.

This is because both models use the same sensors for photography, as well as the same processor. Therefore, the results were scored for both phones throughout the portal's analysis. Check out this data and the photographic results of the two Apple phones now.

iPhone 15 and 15 Plus (Pros)

The positive points mentioned by DxOMark include the viewing on the HDR panels, which show both photos and videos. Both phones reproduced natural and pleasant colors in skin tones, even in bright light.

The video mode also stood out positively for showing low noise levels, in addition to praise for the sensor's stabilization in recordings. The application of zoom in the photo preview proved to be fluid, while the portrait mode presented efficient segmentation of details and accurate depth estimation.

iPhone 15 and 15 Plus (Cons)

The downsides of the cameras include the high level of noise presented in photographs, especially in shadows and other dark areas. DxOMark pointed out limitations in the zoom capability of the phones. There were also limitations in the dynamic range, in photos and videos.

Photos taken by the devices also showed artifacts, moving textures in low light, aliasing and reflections. The analysis also negatively highlighted that videos in low light end up losing some finer details at times.

Test completion

Overall, the models performed very reliably with their cameras. It is no surprise that they are only behind the current top-of-the-line models and the previous generation of Apple. Thus, they miss the telephoto sensor, which is present in the most advanced phones.

Both phones have a 48 MP sensor with f/1.6 aperture and OIS, as well as a 12 MP ultrawide auxiliary with f/2.4 aperture.

Testing with the iPhone 15 Pro Max

THE iPhone 15 Pro Max also underwent testing on DxOMark. According to the experts' assessment, the camera of Apple's most advanced model is only surpassed by the Huawei P60 Pro, having the second best camera in the world.

The device's camera received maximum scores in two aspects, namely photos and videos in indoor environments with good lighting conditions; and photos of family and friends, which includes portraits and group photos and videos.

According to the analysis, it excelled at capturing portraits, delivering accurate skin tone and facial exposure in different lighting conditions. The camera offered great contrasts on faces, even in more difficult situations, while maintaining details. In addition, the ability to capture a photograph at the exact moment the shutter button is pressed reduced the risk of missing decisive movements.

It also excelled in outdoor photos in good light and videos in low-light environments. In total, it received 154 points in the tests, securing second place in the ranking. The Huawei P60 Pro scored 156 points, taking first place.
