What's new in the app
THE WhatsApp Chat was launched on Thursday, July 20. According to Meta, the platform's official chat aims to keep users informed about the latest news related to the messenger.
The tool was announced in March and had been tested with a small group of people, but it is now available to a wider audience. For example, the company will use it to roll out improvements included in the latest update of the app.
The news was announced via a post on WhatsApp's Twitter profile: “Introducing WhatsApp Chat. Our official chat will share the latest tips, tricks, products, and privacy updates that make WhatsApp even better for you. Stay tuned for our first chat about two-step verification,” the company said in a statement.
The WhatsApp Chat feature is expected to reach out to those who have the messaging app installed to share news and tricks that make it easier to use the platform. Right at the launch of the new channel, users will receive tips and information about two-step verification, to improve account security, for example.
