How to reset Alexa via the app
- Open the Alexa app that is connected to your smart box or display;
- Go to “Devices” in the bottom menu and then access the “Echo and Alexa” option;
- Tap on the name of your Amazon Echo that you want to restore and access the device settings;
- On the new page, click on “Cancel Registration”;
- Confirm the action by clicking on “Cancel Registration” in the new window that appears;
- This will put the box in standby mode for configuration by a new user. To indicate that it has been restored, it will emit a yellow light and be ready for a new registration.
How to reset directly on the device
If you want to restore the settings through the smart boxes or displays, Amazon gives you the option to use the physical buttons on your devices. To do this, you must:
– Echo 3rd, 4th, and 5th Gen: Hold the action button for about 20 seconds to enter setup mode, which will display an orange light.
– 2nd generation Echo: Hold the mute and volume down buttons at the same time for 20 seconds, and the light will turn orange.

How to set up Alexa
