Broadcast channels on WhatsApp

Another recent development from WhatsApp is the arrival of Broadcast Channels, just like on Telegram, the messenger's rival. With Broadcast Channels, administrators can send links, messages and updates on certain topics of interest to users. The feature was launched last month and allows users to follow pages and stay up to date with the latest news on the topic, whether it's celebrities, platforms, teams and much more.

The channels are located in the “Updates” tab, a section that also shows users’ statuses. Whoever the user chooses to follow is not visible to other followers. It is also possible to view new, more active and popular channels, according to the number of followers. Users can react to messages sent using emojis. However, other followers will not be able to see the reactions sent.
