Find out which app is changing completely. Your users are not happy with the changes.
Apps were a novelty when smartphones first came into existence. Over time, however, these tools became part of many people's daily lives. Social networks are a great example of this, as most people access these apps several times a day.
However, one of the “pioneering” applications in this regard, and much loved by its users, Twitter, has completely changed. To give you an idea, not even its name has been spared the changes made by its new owner, billionaire Elon Musk. Continue reading and learn more about the transformations of Twitter, or X.
Complete redesign
Twitter recently underwent a major rebranding, changing its name and logo to an X. Not only did the company move its headquarters, it also changed the logo on its website and app. All related products were renamed: from Twitter Blue Subscriber to X Blue Subscriber and from TweetDeck to XPro.
However, it appears the transition isn't over yet. Some users have noticed that the URL generated by the X app's share page on iOS starts with X.com instead of the usual twitter.com. Jay Peters of The Verge said that when I copied the post URL from the share page in the X app on iOS, it appeared as an x.com link instead of twitter.com in my clipboard.
So far, these changes have only been seen on the iPhone, with web links and Android apps continuing to show an overall advantage. But that could change in the near future. Indeed, Twitter owner (X), Elon Musk, explained that X.com as a URL would send you directly to Twitter. However, there was no word on the domain switch at the time.
Twitter Domain Replacement
The change seems logical, given that the company has completely replaced Twitter's name tracking in company filings. In April, Musk registered Twitter as X.corp, which was seen as the first step in rebranding the platform. After testing on Android and the web that changed the twitter.com portion of the URL for a profile or post, it appears that this will take you to the original source, which is still twitter.com.
So while this change could be a limited test or a first step in our transition to x.com, experts believe the change will roll out to Android sites and apps soon. Musk is working with CEO Linda Yaccarino to transform X into a WeChat-like app in China. It will be an app where social media, video, shopping, payments, and more will all be in the same interface. That way, the billionaire believes, users will never have to leave the platform. In this case, this new look for the platform could be linked to the creation of other brands and apps, like a large Meta-style network.
Many users are not happy with the change, and continue to call X Twitter, and all the changes so far have been met with harsh criticism from individuals. Even so, Elon has never wavered in his convictions about completely transforming the app, not even when many of his customers migrated to Twitter. Threads app, from Meta.
