New app is ideal for those who want to connect with biblical figures, including Jesus Christ. Find out how!
Artificial intelligence has been helping people with many different activities in their daily lives, but now it seems that it has gone too far, and is even allowing us to talk to Jesus. Really? Not yet… But a new AI app allows users to embark on a spiritual journey and have “enlightening conversations with Jesus” and other figures from the Bible.
Learn all the details of this “journey” and discover how to “talk to Jesus” through this app, available for Android and iOS.
New application
The application Text With Jesus is a new, interactive way to engage with faith, designed for Christians seeking a connection with the Bible's most iconic figures.
The platform uses ChatGPT to develop conversations and is very simple to use. Just click on one of the pictures in the book and you will immediately be greeted with a message. If the conversation is with Jesus, the user will receive a greeting message and will be asked how they can be helped that day.
Through a monthly subscription of R$15.00, users can also chat with disciples of Christ. Satan is also included in this subscription. According to the platform's developer, the AI is configured to be Jesus or another figure, and through its database, the technology can answer questions according to each character.
The developer has also developed similar apps where users can “talk” to historical figures.
The app's description also says that users can find comfort, guidance, and inspiration through the conversations, and that it is a tool for reflection and is not a substitute for faith or prayer. When chatting with Jesus in the app, the AI also offers prayers and interpretations of Bible verses.
Controversy
It was obvious that this type of platform could cause controversy, right? And that's what happened, since it provides answers to "sensitive" subjects, with questions about sexuality.
In the case of these questions, the technology responds that the Bible mentions relationships between people of the same sex, but that interpretations may vary between individuals and traditions. In addition, the platform also responds that “it is not up to me to condemn or tolerate individuals based on their sexual orientation.” The topic of “abortion” can also be questioned, and the app is against the topic.
According to the app's developer, theological advisors were not consulted when writing the texts, but leaders were invited to test the app. Some of them complained about Jesus' tone, which was supposedly tense, but overall, the feedback was positive, he said.
The app's description also says that it is "fun and educational" and "includes the Old Testament," so you can explore wisdom by talking to prophets and heroes. It also states that new characters are constantly being added, and that the answers are generated according to biblical teachings.
