IT'S OVER: WhatsApp's announcement is AMAZING and you NEED TO KNOW

Check out the new feature that the app has brought to users. It will simplify the use of WhatsApp.

The messaging app WhatsApp has offered several tools in recent years to improve user experience, privacy and security. However, Meta, the company responsible for the app, has launched another new feature that allows you to identify your contacts using only their username.

The tool is still under development and once the app passes the testing phase, it will no longer require the phone number of the contact you want to exchange messages with. This new feature allows you to register a contact's username as a name or nickname for chat, for example. Read on to find out more.

New feature in the app

A new feature made available by WhatsApp will make life easier for many people, as it will allow users to register their contacts without having to type in their phone number on their cell phone. These usernames are different, so no two users can have the same name. However, when the new feature is made available, users should hurry up and register a name so that no one else uses it. Those who use WhatsApp beta with update 2.23.11.15 already have access to this tool, but other users will have to wait a little longer.

Secret resources

WhatsApp is the most used messaging app in Brazil, but many people are unaware of some of its features. This tool can be very useful in your day-to-day life. These features are related to security, ease of use of the app or more privacy.

Group restrictions

This is a feature that allows users to select contacts who are allowed to join WhatsApp groups. To use this tool, go to Settings and select “Privacy.” On the “Groups” screen, choose who to join by selecting Everyone, or My Contacts, or Exclude, and so on.

Users who select the “Everyone” option are not blocked from joining groups. However, after enabling the My Contacts setting, if another contact tries to add a group to your profile, you will receive a link in a private message.

Bookmark conversations to read later

This is a great feature on WhatsApp for those who forget to reply to messages from their contacts on the app. It allows you to mark conversations with a stamp that reminds you to come back to the chat later. FYI, this tool is similar to Google’s “Mark as Unread” tool in Gmail.

Typically, when you read a message in a chat, a colored dot appears to indicate that you have read the message. You can now mark selected conversations that you want to respond to later by clicking and holding and selecting Mark as Unread.

Biometrics on WhatsApp

This is a great tool that allows WhatsApp users to get more in-app security. A block located at the entrance of the application, similar to what you would find on a cell phone screen. You must go to “Settings”, “Privacy” and select “Lock screen” to enter your biometric data in the application.

At the end, a new page will open where the user must enable or disable the option. Then, they must follow the steps that appear in the application. This way, users can remain in secure mode by selecting one of the available biometric options (for example, fingerprint or facial recognition).
