Check out the six best features in Android 14. Check out what's new from Google.
Android 14, the new version of Google's operating system, was released to the public in recent weeks. In addition to new lock screen customization options, the latest generation of the system also includes a new tool for creating wallpapers using artificial intelligence.
The update also brings other cool new features, like the ability to use your phone as a webcam on your computer and flashlight notifications. So let's explore six features of the successor to Android 13 that you shouldn't miss. Check out the main new features of the system below.
AI Wallpaper
THE Android 14 has delved into the world of artificial intelligence. With the update, users will be able to create background images through synthetic AI when typing prompts. This will make smartphones easier to use. However, the functionality will initially be limited to the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. It will soon be available on more devices with the operating system.
Ultra HDR for photos
The Android 14 update also brings improvements to the camera. In addition to the HDR supported in previous generations, users will be able to shoot in Ultra HDR mode. In a press release, Google said that the technology “makes photos more beautiful by emphasizing vivid colors, highlights, and shadows.”
Customize your lock screen
In addition to AI-generated wallpapers, Google has prepared new options to further personalize your phone. In Android 14, users will be able to choose different clock styles and even define their own shortcuts, including Google Home, natively. This new feature follows in the footsteps of Apple and Samsung, which previously offered lock screen customization tools.
Use your cell phone as a webcam
Just like on iOS, users will be able to use their phones as webcams. This new feature is native to smartphones via Android 14, making the process easier without relying on third-party apps. There is currently no information about the availability of the new tool on other manufacturers' interfaces.
Health Connect
Previously an app, Health Connect has become a native feature of Android 14. It centralizes your health and fitness information in one place, making it easier to access across platforms. This way, you can check your data in Samsung Health and Google Fit, for example.
Notification with light
Not long ago, the Android cell phones were equipped with LED lights to display new notifications. However, this feature has been discontinued in recent years. But Google offers an alternative for those who do not have light: the ability to activate the camera flash when receiving a new alert. This way, users can follow notifications without the audio feature.
Temporary emails are no longer available on the new Android
Android users have also been waiting for a native feature that can create temporary email addresses in Android 14. This feature would be ideal for avoiding the overload of personal emails, such as spam. Therefore, temporary emails generated by the operating system itself should be used for registration where it is not necessary to use a private address, an action that would minimize the inconvenience associated with unsolicited messages. This feature has existed on the iPhone since iOS 16 for paid iCloud users, but its launch is not yet planned for Google's system.
