What's new in the latest WhatsApp updates? Check it out here!
WhatsApp is changing every day, and for the better. Meta has listened to its users’ suggestions and made several updates with features that its customers were already expecting.
The latest useful changes to the way you use the app are related to video messages, photos and even security. This last topic is a constant concern for WhatsApp, which wants to protect its users from the constant scams that the platform has been suffering. Keep reading and learn more about the updates and their features.
WhatsApp lets you upload high-resolution photos
Users can now send images high definition with resolution up to 1080p. This has been an issue for fans of the application for a long time. To use the feature, simply select the file you want to send and then click the HD button.
In its official statement, the company said that the feature is made for those special moments when you want your friends and family to enjoy every detail. You can now share high-resolution photos protected by WhatsApp's end-to-end encryption. And HD video is coming soon.
WhatsApp aims to provide a great experience even for professional event photographers, such as birthday parties, weddings and more. And the best part is that the faster photographers send their photos to their clients, the sooner they can post them on Instagram, activating both networks.
However, standard quality is still the media upload option to keep media sharing fast and still reliable. “If you receive photos or videos when your connection is poor, you can choose to keep the standard version or upgrade to HD in each case,” WhatsApp said.
How to send video messages on the app?
Another new feature is that you can send video messages instead of just sending audio. To do this, select the Audio Message button, then toggle on Video. Then, hold down the button and record. The video will be in a round format and can be up to 60 seconds long.
Tool introduces more features to improve privacy
You can now mute strangers. The goal is to give you more privacy and control over incoming calls, one of the keys to customer complaints on social media, for example. To activate it, click on the three dots in the upper right corner of the main screen, click on “Settings”, then on “Privacy” and select “Disable strangers”.
Reasons and importance
WhatsApp has launched a series of updates in recent days to bring a new experience to its users. This is why users remain on the platform. Other factors worth highlighting regarding the strategy: A study by Opinion Box found that most users use WhatsApp to exchange text messages and audio messages (89% and 80%, respectively). In other words, by providing new photo and video tools, messaging apps have a great chance of increasing the percentage of use of these features and, consequently, keeping users on the app for longer.
